Online-registration is now closed. On-site registration is possible at the Conference Office (room 035, Kollegienhaus, Petersplatz 1, Basel). The fee has to be paid in cash in Swiss currency. Euros will be accepted at a 1:1 rate. Opening hours for onsite-registration:

The daily timetable for the conference provides an overview, which should help you organise your trip, whereas the detailed timetable contains the information of your specific ECAS activity.
The recommended date of arrival is Wednesday 28 June when we will host in the afternoon a Business and Development Forum, a number of workshops and, in the evening, the annual distinguished Carl Schlettwein Lecture of the Centre for African Studies. The recommended date of departure is Sunday 2 July (the Conference dinner will be held on Saturday 1 July and an optional farewell brunch will be staged on Sunday 2 July).
All those wishing to attend the conference, regardless of their role - whether presenting, convening, discussing, listening - must register. This does not necessitate paying at that time; registrations are manually checked and processed in batches.Expect to receive your invoice or receipt with a week's delay..
Full conference registration includes access to the opening ceremony, the keynotes, panel sessions, the film sessions, workshops, book fair, tea/coffee during the morning and afternoon breaks.
We invested a lot in an affordable lunch option. For those who have not booked the option a limited number of tickets will be available at the conference office on a daily basis.
A limited number of tickets for the conference dinner will also be available at the conference office.
Registration rates for the full conference are:
- Full rate: CHF 230* (originally given as €220)
- Concession rate (student): CHF 115* (originally given as €110)
- Full rate with three lunches: CHF 260* (recommended) (originally given as €250)
- Concession rate (student) with three lunches: CHF 145* (recommended) (originally given as €140)
- Conference dinner: CHF 53* (originally given as €50)
